The probabilities of success for all these are unchanged between the two games (to within 5%, since that's the resolution on a d20 roll). ![]() The difference in play is that it makes things simpler because you always know what to roll. 1) Darker dungeons used "d20 + bonus >= 20" for pretty much all rolls, whether attack rolls, saving throws, skills, thief abilities, turning undead, or whatever.
